Our client is seeking a

Procurement Expeditor/Buyer

to join their team in

Houston, TX . They are a leading engineering and infrastructure firm providing integrated EPCm solutions across the midstream and upstream energy sectors. The role oversees the end-to-end procurement process for materials, equipment, and services supporting engineering and construction projects. Responsibilities include sourcing, purchasing, and expediting supplier deliverables to ensure alignment with project timelines and specifications. This position requires close collaboration with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and logistics teams to optimize cost, schedule, and quality performance throughout the supply chain.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Review purchase requisitions and coordinate with project teams to confirm specifications, delivery requirements, and commercial terms.

Issue requests for quotation (RFQs), analyze bids, and recommend suppliers in line with project strategy.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve best value for the project.

Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders and contracts.

Monitor supplier progress and ensure timely acknowledgement, document submittals, fabrication, and delivery.

Track and report purchase order status, highlighting risks to schedule or budget.

Proactively resolve supplier delays, quality issues, or shipping constraints.

Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and field teams to align deliveries with construction requirements.

Project Support & Reporting

Maintain procurement logs, expediting reports, and vendor performance data.

Support weekly and monthly project reporting with procurement and delivery status.

Align material readiness with project schedules, escalating risks where necessary.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure supplier documentation (drawings, quality certifications, test reports) is submitted and approved in accordance with project requirements.

Maintain compliance with company policies, client requirements, and industry standards.

Participate in supplier audits and performance evaluations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

5 – 10 years of Expediting/Buying experience in EPCm/EPC in Midstream sector

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Supply Chain, Business Engineering, or equivalent experience

Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)

Strong Excel and reporting capabilities

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Knowledge of international shipping, logistics, and customs clearance (preferred)

Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings

Some travel may be required
