Position Overview A reputable Workers' Compensation Defense firm in Encinitas, CA, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their team. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong EAMS filing and Merus case management experience who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable coordinating with clients, attorneys, and medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Perform accurate and timely EAMS filings.

Utilize Merus case management software for document management, calendaring, and case tracking.

Manage attorney calendars, including hearings, depositions, and appointments.

Proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings for accuracy and compliance.

Coordinate with clients, medical staff, and record providers regarding records, appointments, and documentation.

Provide general administrative support to attorneys as needed.

Work collaboratively within a small, dedicated legal team.

Top Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary in Workers' Compensation Defense.

Strong EAMS filing experience.

Proficiency in Merus case management software.

Qualifications

Prior experience in a Workers' Compensation Defense law firm required.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information.

Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
