Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at

Emerald Care Center Midwest , a leading skilled nursing facility. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our diverse resident population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents.

Work Environment This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.

Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions.

Adapt treatment techniques to meet the specific needs and goals of each resident.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of resident progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes.

Prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and their families.

Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.

Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to the development of care strategies for residentsli>

Provide education and training to residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech‑language pathology.

Adhere to facility policies, state, and federal regulations, and professional standards of practice.

Ensure all practices comply with healthcare and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Current licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist in Oklahoma.

Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.

Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is highly desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Compassionate, patient‑centered approach to care and a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and transfer patients with assistance.

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.

Adequate visual and auditory acuity to assess and interact with residents.
