Job Overview The
Accounting Clerk
provides essential support to the accounting department by performing routine clerical and data entry tasks to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. Responsibilities include maintaining organized records, processing basic accounting transactions, and assisting with accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable functions. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity, offering an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their career in accounting to develop practical skills and gain exposure to the day-to-day financial operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine clerical and data entry tasks to support daily accounting operations.
Accurately enter and maintain financial data in the accounting system.
Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, coding, and posting.
Monitor accounts receivable, record payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as directed.
Reconcile vendor statements and assist with account reconciliations.
Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
Maintain organized filing systems for invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
Provide support for month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies and confidentiality of financial information.

Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business or equivalent accounting/AP experience
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
