Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Mount Holly, NC, in finding a Full-Time Family Assistant for their soon-to-be family of five, including a 7-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a newborn due in October (primary childcare will be for the infant). The nanny would typically be needed Monday-Friday, 6:30 am – 1:30 pm (35 hours). It would be a plus for the candidates to have flexibility for slight schedule changes on occasion, such as coming in later or staying late.

The best Family Assistant would be dependable, trustworthy, proactive, organized, tidy, and able to anticipate the needs of a busy household. Reliability is essential, as both parents have demanding schedules, so being punctual is critical. The ideal candidate is a caring, honest self-starter who can work autonomously without micromanagement. This role requires someone who can balance childcare and home management and ensure the household runs smoothly while providing loving care.

Primary childcare will be for their infant while the older children are in school. The day begins at 6:30 AM to allow the parents to leave by 6:45 with the older children. Responsibilities include feeding and sanitizing bottles, keeping the kitchen tidy, unloading the dishwasher, and maintaining a clean and organized home. During the baby’s awake times, the assistant should foster an engaging environment, focusing on interactive play such as tummy time, singing, reading, and going for strolls. While the baby naps, the household tasks listed below will be the focus. Additional duties include running light household errands as needed and assisting with meal preparation. Mom will typically handle school drop-offs and pick-ups unless a special need arises. On most occasions, Mom will care for the older children during school breaks or holidays, although the family assistant should be ready to jump in as needed. The older children enjoy crafts, designing, outdoor play, and swimming, but pool use will be limited to when parents are home for safety reasons.

Nanny Responsibilities Include:

  • Meeting daily scheduling needs of the child (Feeding, Changing, Napping)
  • Engaging with the child on an age-appropriate level
  • Playing with the child both inside and outside the home
  • Doing hands-on learning activities with the child
