Job Title: Material Planner II (MRP)
Location: 8830 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD 21793 (Hybrid)
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Pay Rate: $15.23 $25.39 per hour (W2)

Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days on-site (M-W) Thursday - Friday remote

Job Description:

The Material Planner II (MRP) plays a key role in ensuring the continuous flow of materials that support manufacturing operations. This position requires strong analytical, coordination, and planning skills to maintain inventory accuracy, meet production schedules, and optimize supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
  • Ensure daily material availability by executing and monitoring MRP results.
  • Release purchase requisitions and coordinate with buyers to prevent production delays.
  • Communicate and resolve material issues across functional teams.

Planning & Coordination
  • Maintain and update material master data and planning parameters in SAP ECC.
  • Balance service levels, inventory targets, and fluctuating demand.
  • Support both short-term and long-term production goals.

Inventory & Cost Management
  • Execute key material actions to optimize inventory and reduce waste.
  • Conduct SMOG (Slow-Moving, Obsolete, and Good) analysis to minimize scrap.
  • Review and adjust safety stock and reorder parameters in SAP ECC.

Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.
  • Streamline communication between Planning, Purchasing, and Quality functions.
  • Participate in developing and updating SOPs and work instructions.

Issue Resolution & Reporting
  • Investigate and resolve material shortages, capacity constraints, and exception messages.
  • Escalate critical issues through tiered meeting structures when necessary.
  • Track and report KPIs related to material performance and inventory levels.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support quality processes including deviation, CAPA, and change control.
  • Review raw material expiration extensions and stock conversions.
  • Provide backup support for production planning.
  • Participate in assigned projects and other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Experience:
  • Entry Level: 04 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced: 510 years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or manufacturing operations

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SAP ECC (Material Requirement Planning) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical abilities.
