Overview Our client, a rapidly expanding HVAC services platform backed by a leading private equity firm, is seeking a
Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
to join the executive leadership team. The CHRO will serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO, CFO, and operating leaders across multiple branches and acquired entities. This individual will lead all aspects of human capital strategy — from organizational design and talent development to integration and culture building — during a period of rapid growth and M&A activity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the private equity sponsor on workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
Talent Acquisition & Development:
Build scalable recruiting, onboarding, and retention programs to support expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions.
M&A Integration:
Partner with operations and finance to integrate acquired teams, harmonize policies, benefits, and compensation structures, and maintain cultural alignment.
HR Infrastructure:
Establish standardized HR systems, policies, and compliance processes across all locations, ensuring alignment with federal and state employment laws.
Compensation & Benefits:
Oversee design and administration of competitive compensation programs, including incentive and equity-based plans tied to performance.
Culture & Engagement:
Champion a people-first culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Change Management:
Lead transformation initiatives as the organization evolves from a regional to national platform.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a
CHRO, VP of HR, or Head of People
role.
Prior experience in a
private equity–backed or multi-site service organization
strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success leading integration and transformation during high-growth or acquisition-heavy environments.
Proven ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on operational execution.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Compensation Competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and long-term equity participation.
