Role Overview The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for the research, testing, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of security products and services, supported by effective change management. The role also includes cloud security and cloud risk management, and may involve designing, testing, and implementing secure operating systems, networks, and databases. Responsibilities further cover password auditing, vulnerability scanning, virus and intrusion detection, risk audits and assessments, application design recommendations, log analysis, backup planning, disaster recovery, project management, and coaching of junior staff.

Responsibilities

Research, test, implement, optimize, and maintain new security products and services to address current and future threats with effective change management.

Develop, maintain, and support processes for the IT Security Framework such as incident management, cloud risk management, and cloud security.

Act as an escalation path to security issues and lead forensic investigations.

Identify and investigate actual or potential information security violations and produce written follow‑up reports.

Participate in application and infrastructure projects to provide security planning and implementation.

Develop dashboards and metrics that include incident reporting and risk management reporting.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field preferred.

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in IT security.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in cloud technologies.

Experience managing SIEM solutions.

Experience with endpoint and email security solutions.

Experience in security incident management and reporting.

Advanced knowledge of networking/web, phishing/cyberattacks, and incident response.

Preferred certifications: CISSP, cloud security, and other security related certifications.

Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis, and organization skills.

May occasionally work evenings or weekends as part of an on‑call rotation.

Compensation The anticipated pay range for this position is $105,322.00 to $131,652.00 annually. Actual starting base pay will depend on geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.

Additional Compensation Position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
