Department Information The Department of Natural Sciences offers the Bachelor of Science in Biology and serves chemistry and life‑science majors, as well as students taking core science courses.
Job Summary Middle Georgia State University is seeking a candidate for the tenure‑track position of Assistant Professor of Biology in the School of Health and Natural Sciences, Department of Natural Sciences, effective Fall 2026. This role involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses (day or evening, lower or upper level; online or hybrid), mentoring, curriculum development, student recruitment, and service on departmental and university committees. Travel among MGA campuses (e.g., Macon to Warner Robins) as required.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate biology courses, including day, evening, online, and hybrid formats.
Engage in scholarship and research activity.
Assist in student recruitment, curriculum development, mentoring, and departmental committees.
Travel between MGA campuses as needed.
Required Educational Qualifications PhD in Biology or a closely related field; special attention given to expertise in microbiology or organismal biology.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior successful teaching experience.
Experience or interest in supervising undergraduate research.
