Job Title: Layout Engineer
Role Overview:
The Layout Engineer will play a pivotal role in the Central Layout Group, driving the development and integration of layouts across Vision, Site, Future, and Current Production projects. This position leads integration efforts, guides technical direction, and supports layout activities from concept through installation using 2D AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and integrate layouts for multiple North American facilities, covering Body, Paint, General Assembly, Press Operations, Conveyors, Casting, Engine, Transmission, Battery, and Electrified platforms.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for plant, program, and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) center stakeholders.
Ensure all layouts adhere to established standards, procedures, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create efficient, lean layouts that optimize floor space and minimize the need for building modifications.
Lead integration meetings, maintain issue logs, and facilitate collaboration across disciplines throughout the layout development lifecycle.
Develop installation-level design details when required.
Manage and maintain layout drawing files, ensuring all incoming files comply with Central Layout Group standards.
Contribute to additional projects and support initiatives as needed.
Skills & Expertise:
Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes across multiple production areas.
Experience in cross-functional collaboration and project coordination.
Ability to balance technical accuracy with lean, space-efficient layout design.
