Job Description Summary Provides treasury and billing functions via accounting and advanced administrative support within a unit or department. Exchanges routine and non‑routine information with internal customers and adapts procedures, processes, and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Applies some advanced skills and procedures appropriate for the position within assigned functional area.
Performs duties and tasks that are both routine and non‑routine.
Schedules, researches, tracks, reconciles and communicates information for the department in a timely manner.
Collects data for preparation of various reports, cash transactions, billings, and variance analyses.
Compiles data for reports and billing documents.
Focuses strong attention to cash balances and monitors cash activity with a sense of urgency daily.
May assist in orienting and training other employees.
Provides additional accounting support to the RJTCF accounting department as needed.
Maintains professional and respectful demeanor.
Performs other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned.
Knowledge
Accrual based accounting concepts, practices and procedures
Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Account reconciliations
Cash‑related transactions
Skills
Organizational and time management skills sufficient to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, electronic communication and maintain spreadsheets and databases
Resolving unusual transaction and accounting discrepancies
Abilities
Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced work environment with many interruptions.
Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels.
Implement changes to standard procedures when required by specific situations and circumstances.
Work independently to resolve treasury or billing related issues. Refers more complex issues to higher level.
Communicate effectively with all personnel and build effective working relationships with others.
Constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.
Execute instructions and request clarification when necessary.
Provide a high level of customer service.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Accounting (preferred), open to degrees in Finance, Economics, and Business.
Two (2) years’ experience preferred. or
Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications
None Required.
