Youth Pastor - Tiburon Baptist Church (Tiburon, CA)
Tiburon Baptist Church ( https://www.tiburonbaptist.org ) is seeking a full‑time Associate Pastor of Youth Ministry and Community Outreach. The church, founded in 1959, is located in Marin County, minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.
Position Summary Ideal for someone who enjoys working with both youth and adults. You will organize and lead a ministry for middle‑ and high‑school students that guides them to worship, spiritual growth, and service, while also overseeing ministry to adult members of the church to fulfill two discipleship pathways: reaching the unchurched locally and globally, and guiding adults into meaningful service roles.
Primary Responsibilities Youth Ministry (6‑12 grades)
Develop and lead middle‑ and high‑school ministries that disciple and evangelize students.
Provide leadership and oversight to the volunteer youth leadership team.
Support and partner with parents to disciple teens at home.
Organize an annual calendar of fellowship, discipleship, and outreach events, including annual camps and mission trips.
Handle administrative duties such as budgeting, timely communication, and coordination of a unified ministry for families.
Allocate 50 % of the time to youth ministry.
Adult Ministry: Lead Church Members to Engage the Unchurched
Lead initiatives to reach the locally unchurched in Marin County.
Initiate programs and practices to guide church adults to engage with the lost.
Train members on evangelism and encourage connections to Jesus.
Build bridges into the surrounding community.
Lead gospel outreach efforts beyond Marin, national and global mission engagement.
Educate members on global mission engagement.
Guide members to participate in global mission trips.
Foster connections between the church and field missionaries.
Allocate 25 % of the time to engaging unchurched adults.
Adult Ministry: Lead Church Members to Service
Help members understand and use their spiritual gifts for service.
Develop a process to guide members into meaningful service roles within the church.
Build relationships with organizations to support outside‑church service.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
Allocate 25 % of the time to leading adults into service.
Experience and Qualifications
Actively walking in a committed relationship with Christ.
Significant youth ministry experience in a church setting, paid or volunteer.
Demonstrated experience leading youth to personal faith and discipleship.
Experience in local evangelism and global missions (desirable).
Experience developing and growing ministry to adults (desired).
Seminary or Bible college degree preferred.
History of solid church participation.
Accountability
Report to the Lead Pastor.
Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and church leadership meetings.
Undergo annual and periodic reviews with the Lead Pastor.
Work Schedule and Compensation
Full time, including Sundays.
Compensation: up to $70,000 per year, dependent on experience. Health insurance, retirement, housing allowance, and ancillary benefits available.
Paid vacation as outlined in the Staff Handbook.
