Job Overview

The role will involve assisting with the safe administration of systemic anti‑cancer treatment and supportive therapies to patients in the Northern Cancer Centre, Carlisle and Henderson Suite Whitehaven. You will support the senior nursing team in delivering a safe and efficient service, lead the team, manage the budget, motivate staff, problem‑solve, role‑model and implement change. The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the multi‑disciplinary team is essential and you must be a registered nurse who is SACT trained with ENB 998 (or equivalent). Ideally you are educated to degree level or working towards one and have completed an oncology course. Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of patient care including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care. They will promote a positive patient‑focused service, incorporate patient feedback, lead delegated responsibilities, manage, lead and motivate junior staff, and deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse when absent. Registered Nurse (appropriate to branch), current NMC membership Diploma in a health‑related subject; prepared to take degree‑level study Specialist qualification relevant to the role or past experience Met Nursing and Mid‑Wifery Council standards for student supervision and assessment (formally mentorship) Person Specification – Knowledge & Experience

Recent and relevant post‑registration experience Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and ongoing professional development Understanding of professional accountability in a leadership role Knowledge of relevant NHS policy or project‑specific policy context Experience of adult/child safeguarding Person Specification – Desirable Criteria

Degree in a health‑related subject Relevant specialist qualification Audit or research experience Clinical skills relating to the specialty (cannulation, IV drug administration, scrub skills, anaesthetic skills appropriate to speciality) Person Specification – Skills & Abilities
