Overview The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Movement Disorders Clinical Faculty to join the Department of Neurology. The ideal candidate will be a fellowship-trained movement neurologist to join a clinical team of three movement disorder physicians and four movement-trained advanced practice providers. The Ohio State University Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Other Movement Disorders is a Parkinson’s Foundation Comprehensive Care Center providing the highest standard of care with a multidisciplinary team that includes specialized advanced practice providers, social worker, nurse, genetic counselor, neuropsychologist, palliative care neurologist, physical, occupational and speech therapists. Our division continues to expand its subspecialty clinics and clinical/translational research opportunities are available. Applicants at all academic ranks are encouraged to apply, but the current position may be best suited for a junior to mid‑career candidate.
Responsibilities
Evaluation and treatment of new and returning movement disorders patients
Supervision of trainees in movement disorders assessments – including medical students, residents and fellows
Develop partnerships with referring physicians and hospitals in the community
Clinical and some didactic teaching is expected
Qualifications
MD or equivalent
Completed 1 or more years of movement disorders fellowship
Current Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (or board eligible if within two years of residency)
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment)
Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment that includes medical students, residents and advanced practice providers
Outstanding clinical teaching skills, bedside manner and professionalism
Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
