Job Description The CT Tech performs the full range of basic diagnostic radiologic procedures and advanced level diagnostic procedures in Computed Tomography (CT). They ensure optimal imaging, verify patient identity, perform procedures per physician orders, and maintain regulatory compliance. They assist with patient care within their licensure scope.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of CT/diagnostic radiologic procedures ensuring optimal imaging.
Verify patient identity using appropriate identifiers per hospital policy and ensure the correct procedure per physician order, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
Determine patient needs based on age‑specific criteria, position patients for accurate testing, coordinate care and transportation, and maintain a sterile environment during invasive procedures.
Apply radiation safety practices such as ALARA and provide adequate shielding. Ensure infection control procedures and HIPAA compliance.
Show empathy, express compassion, and demonstrate appropriate care for patients, families, physicians, and co‑workers.
Assume responsibility for ancillary tasks such as documentation of charges, ordering supplies, conducting environmental safety rounds, and maintaining department records.
Monitor patients, diagnostic procedures, and equipment, make adjustments for optimal results, report malfunctions, and ensure proper image archiving and billing updates.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Current Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of California.
One year recent experience in an acute care facility.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to maintain an appropriate work pace.
Fluoroscopy license/certification.
AHA Basic Life Support.
Customer service skills suitable for the role.
Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual skills effective in patient and family communication.
ARRT advanced certification.
Venipuncture certification.
Pay Rate Minimum $50.44 per hour – Maximum $67.76 per hour.
