Associate Level Structural Analysis Engineer

Position Overview Boeing Global Services (BGS) is hiring a Structural Stress Analysis Engineer (Associate) to work at the Long Beach, CA Design Center as primary and secondary structures stress analyst for airplane production and post‑production modifications. As a level 2 engineer you will possess a good grasp of airplane structural analysis methods and tools for both metallic and/or composite structures. Under general direction you will ensure the airplane has sufficient strength to endure all conditions encountered during its operational life and that the structure meets all design requirements including fail‑safety, durability and damage tolerance where applicable.
Responsibilities
Perform detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity margins of safety using classical techniques and Boeing tools to support production, customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation and regulatory agency coordination.
Provide guidance on structural design and configuration development.
Work with the team to integrate component‑level structural models and perform integrated analysis using finite element methods to verify structural integrity.
Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer and regulatory requirements.
Participate in the resolution of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
1+ years related work experience in structural/stress analysis.
Experience with engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
ABET‑accredited or equivalent engineering degree.
Familiarity with composite structure.
Familiarity with stress analysis of primary and secondary structure.
