Position Summary
SRT seeks a highly motivated, experienced Research Scientist II to join our Protein Sciences team focusing on Antibody Engineering and Kinetics. This central role leads protein engineering efforts to design, optimize and characterize therapeutic proteins and antibodies, driving discovery through development.
Key Responsibilities
Design and optimize proteins and antibodies using rational design and directed evolution strategies.
Drive development of therapeutic candidates to address challenging targets and enhance stability, affinity, specificity, and developability.
Perform comprehensive characterization of antibodies and peptides using biochemical and biophysical techniques (e.g., ELISA, SPR, BLI).
Conduct binding and functional assays to evaluate candidate performance and therapeutic potential.
Oversee and manage CRO partnerships for outsourced mammalian expression, purification, and reagent production.
Project Leadership & Scientific Collaboration
Participate in project planning and contribute to research strategy development.
Collaborate closely with biology, nonclinical, and CMC development teams to ensure seamless program progression.
Communicate research findings effectively to internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external partners.
Independently design and execute experimental plans to meet research objectives.
Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Mentor junior scientists and research associates, fostering a culture of scientific excellence.
Contribute to patent filings, publications, and regulatory documentation.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Deep technical knowledge in antibody discovery and protein engineering.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Evidence of innovation through patents, publications, or conference presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry experience advancing therapeutic antibodies from discovery through development.
Familiarity with developability assessments and biophysical characterization.
Track record of advancing candidates to clinical development.
