SRT Therapeutics About the Company
SRT Therapeutics is a San Diego-based biotech company established in 2024 by the founders of Prometheus Biosciences, Steph Targan, MD (Cedars Sinai), Janine Bilsborough, Ph.D. (Cedars Sinai), the scientific team that discovered Tulisokibart (MK7240) and the role of TL1A in IBD and Scott Glenn and Lauren Otsuki, the drug development team that took Tulisokibart (MK7240) from academia into the clinic. Building on the demonstrated success of the precision medicine approach in IBD with Tulisokibart, SRT Therapeutics will expand this approach by targeting key pathways that not only modulate inflammatory pathways, but also promote tissue healing in IBD. This strategy will move SRT Therapeutics beyond the current empirical treatment model to realize the goal of enhancing both outcomes and the quality of care for our patients. Position Summary
SRT Therapeutics is a fast-paced, science-driven biopharma company focused on advancing innovative biologics. We are seeking a
Senior Research Associate
to join our
Protein Sciences
team, supporting protein characterization and developability efforts across our early-stage discovery programs. This lab-based role offers the opportunity to work closely with scientists across disciplines, contributing to the analytical and biophysical profiling of therapeutic candidates. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and exploratory analytical characterization of biologics using techniques such as: Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC) Reverse Phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) Capillary Electrophoresis (CE-SDS, cIEF) Perform method development and optimization under the guidance of senior scientists. Prepare samples, run assays, and analyze data to support molecule selection and developability assessments. Support QC testing of protein batches for purity, identity, and stability. Provide sample management and tracking of molecule inventory. Establish and maintain lab equipment and ensure proper documentation of experiments in electronic lab notebooks. Participate in team meetings and contribute to data discussions and troubleshooting. Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Education:
B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Biology, or related field 2–5 years of relevant laboratory experience in protein characterization or analytical development Required Skills & Experience:
Hands-on experience with protein analytical techniques and instrumentation Basic understanding of antibody structure and biophysical properties Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Clear communication and willingness to learn new methods and technologies Preferred Experience:
Experience with biologics formats such as mAb, scFv, VHH or multispecific formats Understanding of antibody discovery or engineering workflows Familiarity with kinetic binding methodology such as BLI and SPR Prior contributions to early-stage biologics development in a biotech or startup environment
