As a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer, you'll partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver high‑quality solutions to clients with consistency and accuracy across manufacturing facilities.

What You’ll Do Design full plumbing systems for large, complex manufacturing buildings in the food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, life science, and advanced technology sectors. You’ll determine design criteria, drawing sequences, system presentations, sizing of components, equipment selection, and layouts for domestic water, sanitary and vent, storm‑water, compressed air, industrial gases, vacuum, and fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering projects focused on plumbing design, ensuring adherence to industry standards and efficient integration.

Leverage US plumbing codes, including the Uniform Plumbing Code and the International Plumbing Code; familiarity with FDA sanitary guidelines for GMP and cGMP facilities is preferred.

Design and implement plumbing systems for food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, life‑science, semiconductor, data‑center, cleanroom, and other high‑tech industrial facilities.

Supervise on‑site construction and installation of industrial plumbing systems.

Apply analytical and problem‑solving skills to complex engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.

Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive mechanical engineering solutions.

Demonstrate proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for design and project management.

Mentor junior team members and promote professional growth and skill development.

What You’ll Bring

ASPE Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) (active certification required); Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

12+ years of mechanical engineering experience with a specialization in plumbing design for industrial facilities.

Technical competencies (performed under the supervision of a licensed mechanical engineer):

Plumbing fixture count analysis, incoming service sizing, sanitary drain and vent sizing, grease separator sizing, domestic water booster pump sizing, compressed air compressor and distribution pipe sizing, high‑pressure compressed air system sizing, lift station sizing, FOG treatment systems, facility assessments, and system deficiency studies.

Prepare permits, bid and construction drawings, review work packages, resolve RFIs and FCRs.

Deep understanding of Uniform and International Plumbing Codes.

Extensive field experience in construction and installation of industrial plumbing systems.

Proficiency in designing complex systems and solving challenging engineering problems.

Experience in food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, life science, semiconductor, data‑center, cleanroom, or other high‑tech industrial facilities; GMP and cGMP experience a plus.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Office.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to travel 10‑20% for project needs.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
