Position Overview:
Responsible for profitably developing and expanding the Sugar Bowl Bakery business at Walmart, Sam's Club, and Emerging Channels.
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Sugar Bowl Bakery sales strategy and developing collaborative business plans with customers and sales leadership.
Work closely across functions to collaborate on key initiatives. Operate as a sales leader within the Sales function and across the organization with a general manager mindset.
Essential Functions
Sales Strategy Development & Implementation
Responsible for creating and delivering a multi-year expansion strategy for Sugar Bowl across channels, customer and product assortment with defined goals and KPIs.
Design and implement a highly effective and efficient go-to-market strategy with collaborative customer plans that deliver against organizational objectives and goals.
Use analytical rigor to identify key insights that create opportunity and address issues and proactively communicate key information with sales leadership. Balance “risk/reward” equations.
Provide insights to help develop effective and efficient pricing and promotional strategies that minimize channel conflict.
Think outside of the box to develop programs that may be new and different but are on strategy and move performance needles.
Develop and implement strategy and tactics, move comfortably between both.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong customer relationships with key stakeholders.
Manage and attend national and regional industry sales conferences.
Driving Results
Develop and manage the sales budget, including forecasting and tracking sales performance against targets.
Provide regular report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to senior management.
Own the monthly business review process to review the prior month’s performance & metrics.
Prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints and adapt to the unexpected.
Aggressively pursue goals and objectives with a clear bias for action (i.e. Urgency).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a strategic partner and conduit to internal functions to drive alignment and collaboration.
Work with Sales Finance and Demand Planning to provide timely and accurate forecasts.
Utilize experience to build and devolve processes and best practices to optimize and deliver against company goals.
Leadership
Oversee the management, learning and career development of direct reports.
Communicate clearly, effectively and persuasively in a professional team-oriented environment.
Operate with a clear general management mindset, considers other channels/customers and potential conflicts.
Position Location:
This will be a remote role based in Bentonville, Arkansas, to best support key customers and ensure proximity to our Georgia facility.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of CPG Sales management experience, with strong experience working with Walmart and Sam's Club
Preferred experience in Food Service and alternative channels (convenience, etc.)
Successful Sales/Brand building experience
Comfortable with high profile assignments
Exceptional presentation, selling skills and experience in negotiations
Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills
Demonstrates exceptional learning agility
Strong sales organizational and management skills
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing category strategies that drive business growth.
In-depth understanding of the CPG manufacturing industry, market trends, and consumer behavior.
Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (lookup formulas, pivot tables, charts) and working with large data sets
Exceptional ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with cross functional partners, ensuring collaboration, communication and alignment across teams
Education/Experience
Bachelor of Science of Bachelor of Arts preferred or equivalent business experience
