The Tax Manager will supervise the company's tax, compliance and bookkeeping practice and co-manage the process for preparation of tax returns for individual, business and estate/trust clients.
Job Responsibilities
Work with clients to provide excellent professional services
Collaborate with team members
Help build a growing tax compliance and planning practice
Review and supervise tax returns prepared by staff accountants
Identify and assist clients with utilizing all appropriate adjustments, deductions, and credits to minimize client tax liability in accordance with tax laws and regulations
Review financial records such as income statements, balance sheets and supporting tax documentation to determine appropriate tax compliance
Research tax laws and regulations to determine proper tax treatment for complex tax returns
Prepare, review and analyze tax and accounting work papers
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
Current CPA license is required
6-10 years of tax experience, including preparing and filing tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, corporations, partnerships and entities
Commensurate supervisory experience
Experience with payroll and bookkeeping
Proficiency with QuickBooks
Knowledge of tax software
Strong computer skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with clients
Proactive and independent thinker
Organized and able to handle a sizeable workload, prioritize assignments and pay skillful attention to detail
