We are a growing public accounting firm in Central Massachusetts seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and delivering high-quality tax services to closely held businesses and individuals.
The Tax Manager will oversee tax engagements from planning through review, work directly with partners and clients, and play a key role in staff development and firm growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, non‑profit organizations, trusts, and estates
Lead tax planning and consulting engagements for closely held businesses and high‑net‑worth individuals
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and senior accountants
Ensure compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and deadlines
Coordinate with partners on workflow, capacity planning, and client service initiatives
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements
10+ years of experience in public accounting
Active CPA license
Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation
Proven experience managing multiple engagements and deadlines
Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using ProSystems fx, CCH Axcess, Engagement, ProSeries
Prior experience mentoring or managing staff
Experience with financial statements compilation and review engagement
Background working with closely held businesses
