Logistics Coordinator
Location: Normine Lombard. Must be willing and able to work from the Amboy, NJ office.
Overview The Logistics Coordinator manages all inbound, outbound, and interfacility transportation for Gourmet Nut. This role ensures materials and finished goods move efficiently, cost‑effectively, and on time — supporting production needs, 3PL coordination, and strong OTIF performance.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to schedule and confirm on‑time delivery of raw materials and packaging.
Track incoming shipments, resolve carrier or vendor issues, and maintain visibility of inbound ETAs.
Execute customer routing instructions through customer portals (e.g., Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc.).
Book, confirm, and track LTL, FTL, and container shipments for all outbound orders.
Build and maintain daily and weekly shipping schedules aligned with production output and customer delivery deadlines.
Partner with Shipping and Customer Service teams to achieve high On‑Time In‑Full (OTIF) scores.
Manage and schedule transfers between Gourmet Nut facilities (Perth Amboy, Edison, etc.) and 3PL locations.
Ensure all transfers are documented accurately and executed on schedule to support production, replenishment, and fulfillment.
Monitor and analyze freight costs, lane utilization, and carrier performance to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.
Maintain accurate BOLs, tracking, and carrier confirmations in NetSuite and shared systems.
Support freight bid processes and help negotiate competitive rates and service levels.
Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Shipping, and Customer Service to ensure materials and finished goods are where they need to be, when they need to be.
Escalate and resolve delays or bottlenecks proactively.
Ensure all transportation activities meet food safety, quality, and customer standards — including proper loading practices, temperature monitoring, maintaining cleanliness, and preventing shipping violations.
