Responsibilities

As a Labor & Delivery Nurse at St Mary Medical Center, now part of CommonSpirit Health, you'll guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on the safety of the mother and baby with kindness and compassion. In this role, your responsibilities may vary. You might triage patients in Obstetrics, perform screening exams on walk-ins, or guide patients through routine inductions and deliveries. You'll monitor the mother’s dilation, watch the fetal heart rate, coach the mother during delivery, and support the patient’s partner and loved ones. Success in this role requires understanding that routine can vary greatly. We experience joyful milestones and challenging moments, requiring sensitivity and calmness, especially in emergencies. Remaining calm and in control is essential as patient statuses can change rapidly. While making an impact in healthcare, we support you with benefits including health, dental, vision, FSA matching, retirement plans, paid vacation, adoption assistance, and more. Responsibilities

Triaging walk-ins to assess labor status, water breaking, false alarms, etc. Supporting pregnant patients in labor, including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), pain management, and fetal monitoring. Assisting and circulating in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage, and emergency procedures. Educating patients on interventions, procedures, medications, exams, and labor stages. Assessing and providing care to newborns. Communicating with the care team, including anesthesiologists, physicians, midwives, lactation consultants, charge nurses, and family members. We value social justice, health equity, and innovative care delivery, and invite you to join us. #RN@DH Qualifications
