Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to patients, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, re-assessment, patient re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation. The therapist participates in program planning, protocol development, and assists the team in meeting goals. Primary Duties:
Provides evaluation services, reviews pertinent historical information, conducts assessments, and documents results. Explains findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
Demonstrates proficiency in implementing treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation. Consults with healthcare professionals as needed and recognizes changes requiring plan modifications.
Completes discharge planning and follow-up, documents care activities accurately and timely, and maintains a clear picture of the patient's course of care.
Manages time effectively to meet productivity expectations, providing flexible, empathetic patient access to care.
Pursues continuing education for professional growth, serves as a clinical instructor, and mentors staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required.
American Heart Association's BLS certification and CPR certification.
