Occupational Therapist
to join our team at
MHPT @ Loch Raven - Ortho & Hand . We are looking for a professional with competency as a general practitioner in occupational therapy, capable of independently using varied evaluation and treatment approaches, and able to work effectively in a team environment. The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to patients, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, revision, discharge planning, and documentation. The therapist also participates in program planning, protocol development, and assists the team in meeting established goals. Primary Duties: Provides evaluation services, reviews pertinent historical information, performs assessments, and documents results. Explains findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting. Demonstrates proficiency in implementing treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and healthcare environment. Consults with healthcare professionals as needed, recognizes changes in patient condition, and modifies plans accordingly. Completes discharge planning and follow-up care, accurately documents and charges for care activities, and maintains clear records of patient progress. Manages time effectively to meet productivity expectations, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and empathy in patient care. Proactively pursues continuing education for professional growth, serves as a clinical instructor, and mentors less experienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required for the specific location. American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR certification.
