At EY, we empower a globally connected team to shape client outcomes. As a Data Architect in the Security Technology Services (STS) group, you will modernize and design data systems that enable trustworthy, explainable AI while ensuring compliance and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate strategic plans into architectural designs that improve data integration, quality, and delivery.
- Define long‑term technology strategies and innovation roadmaps across analytics, data engineering, and data platforms.
- Influence and incorporate organizational strategy through close collaboration with the Strategy team.
- Secure strong stakeholder engagement, aligning project delivery with long‑term roadmaps.
- Create scalable security solutions in partnership with cybersecurity experts and operational teams.
- Translate business requirements into data models, metadata, test data, and quality standards.
- Simplify existing data architecture, delivering reusable services and cost‑saving opportunities in line with company policies.
- Maintain governance frameworks that enforce data integrity, security, and compliance across all data systems.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to align solutions with long‑term goals and design guidelines.
- Work with IT teams, business analysts, and analytics teams to understand data consumer needs.
- Leverage LLM integration, semantic retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) architectures, and metadata governance to manage structured and unstructured data.
- Monitor industry trends and provide insights for senior leadership decision‑making.
- Provide enterprise‑level data architecture thought leadership and technical mentorship.
Skills and Attributes For Success
- Experience leading data architecture activities and initiating new ideas.

- Proficiency in Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and related tools.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, C/C++.
- Data science tool expertise: SQL, R, SAS, Excel.
- Modern data architecture design: cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real‑time data distribution (Kafka), data warehouse tools (Snow, Databricks).
- Database technology experience: SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Teradata.
- Metadata and data quality tool knowledge.
- Business intelligence experience: ETL, Power BI, Tableau.
- Continuous learning in ML/AI and security technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with security frameworks, SSDLC, and threat intelligence solutions.
- Communication and collaboration in cross‑functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 16+ years in the IT field, 8+ years senior data architecture experience.
Preferred Certifications
- CISSP or CISM
- TOGAF or AI architecture framework
- SANS GSEC, ECSA, ECSP
