The Digital Media Specialist must have a strong understanding of social and digital media outlets, with the ability to create innovative digital experiences and engaging social media content. Must be an outstanding writer, proofer, and editor, with a keen attention to detail in all work assignments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include but are not limited to the following: Work with the Digital Media Manager and Digital Media Director to execute the Show’s digital media strategy for each platform. Implement industry standard design while maintaining standardization and ease of maintenance, ensuring accessibility, accuracy, and timeliness of information and content. Assist with RODEOHOUSTON mobile app push notification campaigns. Work closely with departments across the organization to assist in their digital media responsibilities. Suggest ways to improve the website and app to promote the Show and better engage with audiences and stakeholders, and recommend industry trends and new technologies. Coordinate with the Social Media Senior Specialist on content creation and scheduling as needed. Support the planning and distribution of content across RODEOHOUSTON social media platforms, including images, videos, and post copy. Evaluate social and digital platform insights and provide strategy updates upon request. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies, including scripting, web services, application security, authoring tools, graphic design tools, new development languages, web accessibility standards, and application stacks. Attend RODEOHOUSTON events and produce live social media content. Work effectively with outside vendors. QUALIFICATIONS Dynamic, self-motivated, creative, and detail-oriented individual with experience in website and graphic design, knowledgeable in Google Analytics, with excellent writing skills, HTML editing, site development, and management skills. Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associate or bachelor’s degree in digital media, communications, public relations, or related fields, with 2-3 years of relevant experience and/or training. Preferred experience in live entertainment, music, concert industry, or professional sports. Strong writing, copy editing, and communication skills are required. Ability to work in a team and handle multiple projects simultaneously, including high-pressure situations. Previous experience with a public relations or social media/digital agency is preferred. Proficiency in the Associated Press Stylebook guidelines for editing. Ability to meet deadlines and multitask effectively. Knowledge of insights and data reporting is a plus. TECHNICAL SKILLS Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects) Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms Proficiency with social media platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, and emerging platforms) REQUIREMENTS This position requires night and weekend support during Rodeo and other times throughout the year. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee may need to sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. During the Show, walking to various grounds may be frequent. Lifting/moving 15+ pounds may be required. Extended work hours and some travel are expected. WORK ENVIRONMENT The setting is a busy, fast-paced marketing and event environment with strict deadlines, heavy computer use, and ongoing public relations activities. Extended hours are common, especially during the Show.
