In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of freight brokerage operations to build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients, ensuring optimal logistics solutions and driving revenue growth. Your responsibilities include generating leads, advancing the sales process, and closing new business. You will conduct research to identify leads and reach business targets through telephone, email, and in-person interactions. Additionally, you will participate in planning and executing company marketing activities, providing input based on your interactions with prospects. Responsibilities Manage and expand a portfolio of clients, identifying their logistics needs and providing tailored freight solutions. Cold-call prospects generated by external sources of leads. Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts. Identify key decision-makers to initiate sales. Collaborate with team members to determine necessary strategic sales approaches. Maintain and expand the company's database of prospects. Assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients. Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth within the freight brokerage sector. Emphasize product/service features and benefits and quote prices. Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database and CRM. Work with various teams to ensure smooth communication and logistics service delivery. Attain predetermined performance metrics as outlined by your manager. Identify and capitalize on opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell our clients services.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required. 5+ years in transportation reefer sales (non-asset is preferred but not mandatory). Proven track record of successfully managing client relationships and driving revenue growth. Formal sales training certification or proven track record of applying structured sales process to achieve and exceed performance targets. Strong negotiation skills with a keen understanding of market dynamics. Familiarity with freight brokerage software and tools. Established network within the transportation and logistics industry. Experience with compliance regulations and best practices in freight brokerage. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment while maintaining high levels of productivity. Demonstrated leadership qualities and commitment to team collaboration.
