LHH is partnering with multiple clients across the DMV region to identify experienced and strategic
Controllers
to lead accounting operations and serve as key financial stewards within their organizations. These roles are ideal for finance professionals who combine strong technical accounting knowledge with business acumen, leadership capability, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
Manage and mentor accounting teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or applicable accounting standards.
Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations for strategic decision‑making.
Lead the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
Support budgeting and long‑range planning processes, providing variance analysis and performance metrics.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
8–15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks.
Proven experience managing accounting operations in mid‑size to large organizations; industry experience in
technology, real estate, professional services, or manufacturing
highly valued.
Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Deltek, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel proficiency.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment while maintaining accuracy and integrity.
Competitive salary range: $160,000 – $220,000 + bonus
Employees are paid on a biweekly basis.
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
