Blue Sky is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant for our client, a well-established CPA firm located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This role requires 3–5 years of progressive public accounting experience with a focus on domestic business tax returns. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in tax compliance and research, experience preparing complex S‑Corporation and Partnership returns, and an interest in developing skills in tax advisory and planning for closely held businesses and their shareholders/partners.
Base Pay Range $80,000.00/yr – $110,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for business entities, including S corporations, partnerships and C corporation and trusts.
Research and analyze technical tax issues affecting entity and shareholder/partner taxation, providing well-supported conclusions and recommendations.
Identify tax planning opportunities for clients and assist with advisory projects.
Maintain working knowledge of trial balances, propose and post adjustments for tax return preparation, and ensure completeness of financial data, including equity reconciliation.
Collaborate with engagement teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of client deliverables.
Assist with quarterly tax projections and extension payments.
Stay current with new tax laws, regulations, and pronouncements relevant to client engagements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field required.
CPA license desired (active or having begun testing).
3–5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on business tax compliance.
Demonstrated experience with CCH Axcess Tax and CaseWare Workpapers preferred.
Strong working knowledge of trial balance and adjustment processes.
Proven ability to perform tax research and interpret complex tax issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a small collaborative team environment.
Strong communication skills both written and spoken, essential in English.
