Travel Contract 13 Weeks Shift:
Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Santa Monica, CA. This role involves providing comprehensive perinatal care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing all stages of labor and delivery and comfortable floating to the postpartum unit when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct nursing care to patients throughout the labor and delivery process
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, including fetal heart rate monitoring
Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections
Float to postpartum and couplet care units as needed
Maintain accurate documentation using the Epic EMR system
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies
Work Requirements
Must be available every other weekend
No on-call required
Must float to postpartum unit as needed
First-time travelers not accepted
RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted with the profile
Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
License & Certifications:
Active California RN license Required BLS & NRP Required (may be assumed standard for L&D roles, confirm with the client)
Skills:
Proficient in fetal heart rate and high-risk pregnancy monitoring Experience with C-sections and vaginal deliveries Strong postpartum and couplet care skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Proficient in Epic charting
