CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES
This person will work across the North American brands as part of the global Privacy and Data Protection team to deliver key data protection outcomes and initiatives, with a focus on incident response and information rights but also active participation across all aspects of our global privacy program.
Essential Functions
Information/Data Subject Rights: Collaborate with the global team to operate and continually improve the North American brands’ data subject rights processes, ensuring that all rights are enabled in line with applicable global laws. Provide authoritative advice and guidance to stakeholders on our obligations to enable these rights. Develop and maintain guidance and awareness materials to educate users about requirements and process.
Privacy Incidents: Collaborate with the global team to operate and continually improve the North American brands’ privacy incident management process. Take accountability for coordinating investigations, resolving and escalating privacy incidents across North American brands.
Reporting and Metrics: Collate meaningful and value‑driven metrics across all areas of responsibility to monitor and report on compliance outcomes from the above processes, identifying, raising and tracking remediation activities and process metrics.
Privacy by Design: Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIA) to identify privacy risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Advice and Guidance: Support stakeholders across the global organization with timely, accurate and clear privacy and data protection guidance, escalating to the global Data Protection Officers as necessary.
Miscellaneous: Develop and maintain ongoing documentation, enhance specified privacy processes, and assist with escalations/inquiries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Privacy certification such as IAPP CIPP, CIPM or CIPT, ISACA CDPSE, or willingness to work toward an equivalent
5+ years in a directly relevant or complementary role with demonstrable data protection exposure
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Office tools, including effective use of collaboration features. Exposure to or experience with typical privacy and IT workflow tools such as OneTrust.
Knowledge of U.S. and global privacy laws, regulations and best practices; demonstrated ability to implement and manage compliance programs in complex organizations.
Capability to solve complex problems in creative, efficient and cost‑effective ways.
Ability to develop professional presentations, reports and business correspondence.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and successfully in cross‑functional and cross‑cultural teams.
Ability to respond effectively and discretely to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Physical Demands Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel No or very little travel likely.

This position is classified as “remote.” As a remote role, employees work full‑time from their home. The role may require regular travel to Carnival headquarters in Miami, FL for in‑office collaboration. Sourcing of candidates is primarily done in Carnival’s remote hubs of Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. Candidates must be located in one of the following U.S. states: FL, GA, TX and NC.
Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job‑related skills and experience.
All non‑sales roles participate in an annual cash bonus program; sales roles have an incentive plan. Directors and above may be eligible for Carnival’s discretionary equity incentive plan. Carnival provides comprehensive benefits including:
