Physician (High Risk) - LV Nellis Family Medicine Clinic - Full Time 10 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union) . The Physician provides direct and indirect patient care as required by department/unit leaders. Under indirect supervision, manages patient care for high-risk populations at the USC Culinary Health Center and Durango Clinic. Essential Duties
Provide and manage direct patient care, including examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments, emphasizing health education and preventive care. Obtain patient histories, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports as needed. Counsel patients on medical, psychological, and personal health issues; refer to specialists when appropriate. Prescribe medications and treatment regimens suitable to medical conditions. Refer patients to specialists and collaborate with counseling services for mental health issues. Review and supervise care plans created by physician assistants/nurse practitioners. Follow departmental policies, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate. Maintain professional licenses, certifications, and stay current with medical advancements. Provide after-hours call coverage as needed. Manage patients with multiple chronic conditions and coordinate multidisciplinary care with specialists. Oversee complex care transitions and collaborate with utilization management for high-risk patients. Refer low-risk patients to specialists as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned, with the university's right to modify responsibilities. Qualifications
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.) 0-1 year of experience as an M.D., including residency Experience in primary care, diagnostics, and post-acute care transitions Ability to provide diagnostic and counseling services Strong interpersonal skills and confidentiality Experience collaborating with specialists Preferred Qualifications
2–5 years of relevant specialty experience preferred Licenses/Certifications
Valid medical license in Nevada Unrestricted DEA certificate with Nevada address Board certification in specialty area Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA Nevada Board of Pharmacy license USC Credentialing within 120 days of hire The annual salary range is $220,064 - $363,105, based on experience and qualifications.
