Job Description The Physician provides direct and indirect patient care and performs related duties as required by department/unit leadership. Under indirect supervision, the physician manages patient care at the USC Culinary Health Center and Durango Clinic, collaborating with staff and specialists to ensure comprehensive care.
Essential Duties
Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, emphasizing health education and preventive care.
Maintains accurate medical records, takes detailed histories, and prepares reports as needed.
Provides counseling on medical, psychological, and personal issues; refers patients to specialists or other treatment services.
Prescribes medications and treatment regimens appropriate to patient conditions.
Collaborates with counseling services and refers patients with mental health concerns.
Reviews and supervises care plans developed by physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
Adheres to departmental policies, quality improvement, safety, and infection control standards.
Participates in health promotion, education, and prevention programs.
Maintains professional credentials and stays current with medical advancements.
Covers after-hours calls as needed.
Manages patients with chronic conditions and collaborates with care teams for multidisciplinary care.
Oversees transitions of care for patients with hospitalizations and works with utilization management to coordinate high-risk patient care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.).
0-1 year of experience as an M.D., with successful completion of residency.
Ability to diagnose, treat, and counsel patients effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience as an M.D.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid medical license in Nevada.
Unrestricted DEA certificate with Nevada address.
Board certification in a specialty area.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Board of Pharmacy license in Nevada.
USC credentialing within 120 days of hire.
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire, if applicable.
The annual salary ranges from $191,360 to $315,744, considering experience, education, skills, and organizational factors.
