GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to join the department of Screening, Profiling & Mechanistic Biology (SPMB) at GSK's research facility in Upper Providence, Pennsylvania. The SPMB department focuses on delivering high-quality, biologically relevant pre-clinical leads across all GSK therapeutic areas, utilizing tools such as assay development, high throughput screening, compound profiling, and mechanism of action studies.

As an Investigator - Immunologist, you will develop cellular immunology assays related to oncology or inflammation to generate and characterize leads for preclinical drug discovery. This lab-based role involves contributing to discovery projects, advancing technology, and collaborating with other scientists to develop and analyze experiments. Innovation and synergy between platforms are encouraged.

The successful candidate should be capable of designing and executing experiments to the highest scientific standards, be highly flexible and independent, and able to prioritize across multiple projects.

This role offers the opportunity to lead activities that will advance your career, including:

Designing and implementing plate-based cellular immunology assays to evaluate small molecules and biologics in pathways governing innate or adaptive immunity. Collaborating within a matrix team environment to achieve project and department objectives. Working with human biological samples, following SOPs for handling and tracking samples.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

Ph.D. in immunology or related biological sciences (e.g., Cell Biology, Oncology, Pharmacology) with a strong record of scientific publications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Expertise in multicolor immunophenotyping and functional analysis of immune cells, such as MLR, ADCC, or multiplexed cytokine assays. Experience developing primary co-culture systems or assays reflecting tumor microenvironment biology. Self-motivated with a drive for scientific excellence. Extensive lab experience and strong background in flow cytometry and cellular assay development. Proficient in Microsoft Office and FlowJo or similar software. Independent thinker with problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration in a matrix environment.
