Responsibilities
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
Advanced knowledge of anatomy and anticipate instrumentation for each surgical step.
Expedite procedures by anticipating surgeon needs.
Adhere to aseptic and surgical techniques.
Serve as preceptor for new and experienced staff in the scrub role.
Provide working knowledge of powered instrumentation, video equipment, microscopes, and complex instrumentation; assist in evaluating new products and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1 year Surg Tech experience or equivalent.
Certification: Basic Life Support – American Heart Association.
License: Virginia Registered Surgical Technologist.
