Senior Aviation Civil Engineer

Base pay range $102,900.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
What You’ll Do
Lead civil engineering design for aviation projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure.
Manage project scope, schedule, and technical quality to ensure compliance with client expectations and regulatory standards (FAA, UFC, ICAO).
Mentor and oversee junior engineers and technical staff, delegating tasks and reviewing deliverables.
Develop grading plans, earthwork balancing, and site layout design.
Collaborate with multidiscipline projects, including electrical, drainage, structural, etc., and implement information into civil design.
Understand the full project process from data collection to bidding and initiate the next step of the process.
Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and review engineering reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field observations.
Participate in contract bidding and administration processes.
Champion quality, safety, and sustainability in all aspects of project execution.
Here’s what you'll need
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE or equivalent).
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on aviation projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AviPlan.
Strong understanding of FAA design standards and airport operations.
Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Prior work on Florida-based airport projects.
Proficiency in hydrology/hydraulics software (e.g., StormCAD, HEC-RAD).
