Job Summary The Surgical Technician assists in the care of surgical patients by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment required during procedures. The ideal candidate anticipates the needs of the surgeon, maintains sterile fields, and ensures quality patient care under the supervision of Physicians and RNs. Adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards is essential to maintain a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Assist surgeons and maintain sterile field during operative procedures.
Follow instructions from Physicians and RNs closely.
Practice Standard Precautions at all times.
Maintain a safe environment in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Float to sister units as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
Able to tolerate long periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking.
High School Diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician program.
Schedule Options Option 1:
Shift: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM (12 hours)
Saturdays required
Float to sister unit as needed
Option 2:
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (9 hours)
Saturdays required
Float to sister unit as needed
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
Capable of prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
