Job Summary: Assists the Director of Research Administration and the Director of Budget with financial administration, management, federal cost principles compliance, generally accepted accounting principles and audit compliance, and stewardship of the College's research portfolio including, but not limited to research awards, research foundation funds and all research derived funds. Provides compliance and oversight by monitoring budgets and spending, approves expenditures and provides ethical management of funds. Provides financial oversight for College Research funds. Serves as liaison with internal and external entities for research related reporting. Develops and communicates College research business procedural manual. Provides ongoing research budget updates to Dean, Associate Deans, Chairs and Director. Manages multiple fiscal and accounting functions within research administration and recommends procedures to effectively administer post award and ensure compliance with internal control procedures, accounting best practices and research guidelines. Assists PI's on budget development for award actions, interpretation of Notice of Awards for fiscal terms and conditions. Reviews award letters for compliance terms and conditions. Assists with administrative functions related to the contract terms and conditions. Monitors and manages effort allocations and cost-sharing on grants. Reviews and approves for fiscal and research compliance all research related transactions. Works with Division of Research post award to close out expired grants, grant transfers, and award continuations. Collaborates with the Division of Research post award to initiate documents for new award set up. Assists the Director of Research Administration and Division of Research on resolving issues encountered in research labs. Manages multiple fiscal and accounting functions. Interprets fiscal and accounting administrative rules and policies. Assists Director of Research Administration in preparing Research Metrics for ASPPH Reporting. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of grant or contract administration experience OR Certified Research Administrator (CRA) and six (6) years of grant or contract administration experience OR equivalent combination of education and ten (10) years of grant or contract administration experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
