Our Cardiovascular team develops leading solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke, elevating standards of care for stroke, heart failure and atrial fibrillation (AFib) patients.
Purpose Heart Recovery, a rapidly growing medical device company, is seeking a driven and results‑oriented Surgical Sales “Heart Team” Specialist to support Cardiac Surgeons and Heart Failure Cardiologists across the United States. You will work closely with Surgical Account Managers, Commercial Sales, and clinical teams to drive growth through the Impella® product portfolio, enabling physicians and staff to recover hearts and save patients’ lives.
You Will Be Responsible For
Train, educate and support combined CT/Heart Failure programs on the proper use of the Impella.
Provide full customer immersion, including input on patient selection and surgical support, across multiple sites to ensure optimal outcomes.
Offer device expertise and support on Impella to aid adoption beyond commercial launch.
Conduct surgical implant and unit support readiness, including training at existing sites.
Collaborate internally with Surgical Leadership, Training, Engineering, Marketing, Professional Education, Clinical, and R&D teams.
Participate in on‑call support rotation.
Maintain contact with customers to assess clinical and educational needs.
Deliver device training across the full Impella line‑up.
Act as a functional expert, providing advanced acumen on durable, acute, and hemodynamic medical devices.
Build relationships with strategic partners and key opinion leaders.
Serve as the primary contact for Cardiac Surgeons, Heart Failure Cardiologists, OR teams, Intensivists, Perfusionists, and ICU/Step‑Down Unit teams.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; licensure as Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Surgical Physician’s Assistant (PA), or Perfusionist.
Direct cardiac surgery/perfusion experience at the table; 5+ years preferred.
Direct patient‑management experience in cardiothoracic ICU caring for post‑op MCS (excluding IABP) or durable MCS, or experience assisting in the CVOR.
Familiarity with cardiac surgery and OR protocol required.
Willingness to travel/cover multiple geographies; up to 50% overnight travel may be required.
Prior experience with Abiomed Impella 5.5 required; additional cardiac device experience highly desired.
Ability to drive patient outcomes.
Compliance with all applicable state and federal laws governing the medical device industry.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Compensation and Benefits Base pay $125,000, with a highly competitive sales incentive compensation program and company car allowance through the FLEET program. Benefit programs include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, business accident insurance, group legal insurance, and a consolidated retirement plan (401(k)).
Time‑off benefits: Vacation 120 hours per year; Sick time 40 hours per year (48 hours in Colorado; 56 hours in Washington); Holiday pay 13 days per year; Work, personal and family time up to 40 hours per year; Parental leave 480 hours; Bereavement leave 240 hours; Caregiver leave 80 hours; Volunteer leave 32 hours; Military spouse time‑off 80 hours.
