The Ideal RN Candidate Will

Nursing Degree (ASN or BSN)

Have prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care (preferred, but not required!)

Experience with SigmaCare a plus

Have an ability to assess resident needs and make sound clinical decision

Have an ability to prioritize and coordinate activities of nursing unit

Required Qualifications

An active RN license for New York State

CPR certification

About The Position The Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Nursing Team, assisting and supervising residents in all activities of daily living. The RN provides expert care to our patients, and motivates the resident to participate in ADLs to improve and maintain their independence and self-esteem. Additional responsibilities may include:

Serve as the nursing leader and educator on the unit. Directs all care related items from admission through discharge

Supervises CNAs and LPNs

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team in a coordinated effort with the resident and family to create a comprehensive, individualized plan of care

Through keen observation of any actual and potential changes in condition, the RN together with the other members of the clinical team will respond and react timely and according to protocol to prevent re-hospitalizations and potential emergency situations.

Educates and reinforces clinical competencies of nursing staff in areas such as wound care, ostomy care, foley catheter insertion and care, medication administration through all routes including G-tube and IVs, trach care and suctioning.

Performs tasks such as IV insertion, PICC line care, GT and suprapubic catheter reinsertion, initiate care plans and review the data and sign off on assessments done by the LPN

Salary: $55.00 - $60.50 per hour
