Essential Job Responsibilities
Donor Communication, Donation Screening, Scheduling & Tracking (60%): Manage high volumes of donor inquiries across multiple channels while operating mostly in Salesforce. Educate donors about ReStore’s donation procedures and guidelines. Schedule and coordinate donation pick‑ups in alignment with operational policies and goals, maintain accurate donor records, and ensure smooth communication among staff, drivers, and donors. Generate reports on donor activity and key metrics to support strategic planning and awareness efforts.
Brand Ambassador and Operations Support (30%): Support ReStore leadership by fostering stakeholder relationships, driving staff development, and promoting donations and sales. Collaborate across teams, communicate ReStore’s impact to the public, and step into procurement leadership when needed. Ensure a safe, productive, organized work environment, coordinate donation events, assist loading donations on trucks, and perform ad‑hoc tasks assigned by leadership.
e‑Commerce Support and Coordination (10%): Manage ReStore’s online sales platforms, ensuring accurate product listings, pricing, and inventory updates. Collaborate across multiple store locations to source, photograph, and describe donated items, maintain brand consistency, and optimize listings based on data insights.
Teamwork: Contribute to organizational health through collaborative leadership, integrity, and a team‑first mindset. Participate in events, engage with staff and volunteers, and support setup, management, and networking efforts to strengthen team cohesion.
Professional Growth and Skill Development: Actively participate in cross‑functional collaborations, adapt to evolving business needs, and take on new challenges by contributing to special projects and initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Detail‑oriented with excellent data entry and organizational abilities
Salesforce experience preferred
Adaptable, proactive, and calm under pressure
Familiarity with Chicago neighborhoods and street routes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact
Preferred (but not required)
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Bachelor’s degree
Experience with scheduling, logistics, or customer service
Familiarity with furniture, construction materials, home goods, or interior design
Box truck driving experience or willingness to learn
Personal volunteer experience
Position Details Reports To:
ReStore Procurement & Logistics Manager
Hours:
Full‑time; 9 am – 5 pm, Tuesday – Saturday
Environment:
Habitat for Humanity ReStore Chicago is located at 6040 N. Pulaski Rd. in Chicago. This position will have a desk, computer, and phone line in an office, with occasional lifting of 30‑50 lbs and box truck driving experience a plus.
Compensation:
$20.15–$22.50 per hour (depending on experience), 30+ vacation/sick/personal days per year, 90% employer‑paid health insurance; access to dental, vision, life, and 401(k) plans.
FLSA Status:
Non‑exempt; eligible for overtime pay at 1½ times the regular rate for hours over 40 in a payroll week.
Onboarding:
The position will begin with an onboarding period to become familiar with the organization’s policies and procedures. Training will be provided through a combination of in‑person, online, and written materials.
