Quality Assurance Technician

Capstan Medical is an engineering incubator focusing on minimally invasive structural heart treatment. We cultivate cutting‑edge technology centered on patient value, with a collaborative and fast‑paced culture in a repurposed warehouse space in Santa Cruz. Our active programs target catheter‑based repair devices for heart diseases, and we specialize in micro‑scale mechanical medical devices.
Responsibilities
Provide support in incoming quality inspections for implantable medical devices and/or capital equipment.
Execute inspection and/or test procedures to evaluate all aspects of development of new products.
Review quality records such as Device History Records of product sub‑assemblies and/or finished goods.
Conduct quality inspections of supplied medical device components and maintain associated records.
Assist the QA team in remedial actions to support disposition of product or component non‑conformance.
Assist in environmental monitoring processes and related record keeping.
Operate specialized equipment that supports established test and/or cleaning activities.
Skills Desired
Perform visual inspections (detect defects) using a microscope and/or magnification inspection systems.
Conduct measurements using tools such as calipers, pin gauges, micrometers, etc.
Read manufacturing prints and identify associated specifications/characteristics related to inspection and testing.
Use computers and general office software for data entry.
Requirements
High school graduate; AA degree is a plus.
3 years of experience in a Class III medical device manufacturing environment (preferred).
Device History Record review experience is a plus.
Experience with structural implant heart devices is preferred.
