Occam Labs is an engineering incubator targeting early-stage medical device design. We focus on cultivating cutting edge technology centered on patient value. Our team is highly collaborative and hands-on, takes pride in iterating quickly, and believes that the best ideas can come from anywhere or any person. We wear multiple hats on a daily basis as a small team, with multiple programs in the pipeline. Occam Labs is uniquely positioned in Santa Cruz, close to but distinct from the greater SF Bay Area. Our office is in a repurposed warehouse space near bicycle trails, open space, and access to Wilder Ranch State Park for outdoor activities. Responsibilities
Our Manufacturing Technicians build complex assemblies through precise adherence to written manufacturing process instructions (MPI’s). Work alongside the R&D Engineering team to assist in troubleshooting, prototype building, and iterative design where applicable. Support a fast-paced team of bright engineers; be detail-oriented, honest, and an effective communicator. Work in a controlled, manufacturing environment with medical device experience preferred. Contribute to the production of medical device systems, both robotic and manual; this position is 100% on-site in Santa Cruz, CA. Skills
Ability to use a variety of hand tools; manual torque drivers with attention to torque specs. Follow written, verbal, and pictorial instructions; disseminate build activities back to the engineering team. Ability to debug electro-mechanical assemblies or willingness to learn. Ability to handle ESD-sensitive components or willingness to learn. Run tests/scripts on manufacturing test stations or willingness to learn. Experience within a Quality System for the production of medical devices or willingness to learn. Requirements
2–4 years’ experience in medical device production or similar role; production technician preferred. Why Join Us
