Posting Summary: The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a Family Medicine Physician in the rank of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will join as core faculty to provide quality patient care and fulfill leadership and teaching responsibilities of residents and other learners primarily at the Family Medicine Monument Square practice in New Brunswick, NJ, and at other department sites including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: MD degree. Board Certified in Family Medicine with a minimum of 3‑5 years of patient care and teaching experience.

Certifications/Licenses: Up‑to‑date NJ Medical License, DEA, CDS in the State of New Jersey.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Certification in Family Medicine

Hospital privileges on the Family Medicine Teaching Service at RWJ University Hospital

Outstanding medical knowledge

Ability to provide optimal patient care to a large panel of patients

Excellent counseling and communication skills

Ability to take medical histories, acknowledge and respond to patients' questions, health concerns, and medical problems

Ability to work with other family physicians, APNs and healthcare team members

Prescribe proper medications and perform, discuss and interpret diagnostic tests

Order lab tests and interpret test results

Carry out diagnosis and treatment

Maintain patient confidentiality and impartiality

Strong organizational skills

Active listening and effective communication skills

Ability to make effective decisions and manage change

Supervision skills to provide on‑call supervision to Family Medicine residents at RWJUH

Provide teaching responsibilities inherent in achieving program goals, including care of the hospitalized patients; and comply with all Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School compliance including HIPAA

Precept Family Medicine residents and third year RWJMS medical students assigned to the Family Medicine at Monument Square office

Take on role as sub‑internship director of medical students
