Job Description The Active Directory Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s Active Directory (AD) infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of AD services, and providing technical leadership for AD-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement AD architecture, including forests, domains, organizational units (OUs), and group policies;
Ensure the security of the AD environment by implementing best practices for authentication, authorization, and auditing;
Implement and manage topic tiering to prioritize and categorize AD-related issues and projects based on their complexity and impact;
Design, implement, and manage Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to support secure communications and authentication within the AD environment;
Oversee the maintenance and support of AD services, including troubleshooting and resolving issues;
Work closely with other IT teams to integrate AD with other systems and applications;
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the AD environment, including design specifications, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs);
Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to ensure the AD infrastructure can meet future demands;
Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for AD services.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of hands‑on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory environments;
In former roles you proved your capabilities to work proficient with AD design, Group Policy management, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, PKI, and related technologies;
You developed and operated Entra ID connect;
If you also have first experience with AD migrations and consolidations it is considered as a plus;
Same applies for knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g. PowerShell);
Your capabilities are underpinned with relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert;
You like problem‑solving and are able to address them in a comprehensive, holistic and coordinated manner;
Your excellent communication skills in English help you to explain them to different stakeholders;
To work collaboratively in a team environment but also independently comes natural;
You are ambitious, pro‑active with a positive mindset.
