About the Opportunity
Rapidly growing ophthalmology practice in Annapolis seeks an Optometrist to join our collaborative team. The practice is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and education on a wide range of ocular concerns and possesses a keen focus on the management and care of cataracts and glaucoma. We are searching for a self‑motivated, energetic, creative, and dependable individual with prior experience in a medical setting treating ocular conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills, basic computer skills, and the drive and ambition to grow with our practice as a key member of our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Perform a complete dilated fundus exam
Diagnose and coordinate treatment for ocular diseases, including cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, blepharitis, and retinopathy
Prescribe drug treatments for ocular conditions
Provide clear written and verbal instructions to patients and their caretakers
Interpret results of disc photos, retina photos, and visual fields
Ensure accurate medical coding (CPT/ICD‑10)
Maintain basic computer skills and communicate effectively with staff and customers
Delegate responsibilities and manage staff relations
Demonstrate flexibility in schedule
Requirements
Residency‑trained optometrist
Valid optometry license (required)
Experience in an ophthalmology or medical setting
Strong written and oral communication skills
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Flexibility to work a 8‑hour day shift, Monday to Friday; no nights or weekends
