As a

Structures Integration Lead , you will oversee the hands‑on assembly, integration, and testing of structural flight hardware across first articles and production builds. You’ll guide a team of technicians through high‑complexity aerospace assemblies, collaborating closely with engineering and operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety across all work. This role demands precision, technical ownership, and leadership in a fast‑paced, development-heavy environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute structural integration activities across sub-assemblies, full vehicle sections, and fluid/electromechanical systems

Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to guide drilling, reaming, countersinking, fastener installation, and system-level integration

Manage daily technician workload and priorities; act as the primary conduit between engineering and the shop floor

Build and install mechanical and light electrical sub-systems, including precision alignment, hardware torqueing, and system routing

Design and oversee the fabrication of custom tooling and fixtures for repeatable and safe operations

Supervise large lifts, rigging activities, and integrated pressurized ground operations

Troubleshoot and resolve in-situ build issues; redline drawings and provide structured feedback to engineering

Improve and enforce shop-level procedures, 5S standards, and continuous process improvements

Support the development and documentation of early production processes

Foster a strong team culture focused on safety, quality, technical growth, and accountability

Approve timecards, manage PTO requests, and track team-level spend against project allocations

Travel as needed to support remote builds, testing, or hardware deliveries

Minimum Requirements

5+ years of experience in a high-tempo aerospace or startup environment

2+ years in a leadership or technical lead role, coordinating shop floor or technician teams

Proven success in transitioning flight hardware from prototype to production

Deep familiarity with structural integration practices including drilling, countersinking, fastener installation, and inspection

Experience with rigging, lifts, and ground support equipment (GSE) build and operations

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T; experience redlining documentation for accuracy and clarity

Proficiency with shop tools, safety standards, and operational best practices

Comfortable managing task schedules, team deliverables, and interdepartmental coordination

Strong communication skills and ability to foster team alignment and performance

Preferred Skills & Experience

A&P license strongly preferred

CAD/CAM familiarity and experience with digital build tracking tools

Sheet metal bending and fabrication experience

Prior experience developing and integrating complex systems (fluid, mechanical, or hybrid)

Ability to support offsite operations as needed
