Position Overview
Program Director for the Future Education Model Dietetics Graduate Program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Provides oversight for coursework and duties related to the academic experiences associated with the Dietetics Graduate Program coursework and field placement. Offers leadership in recruiting, enrolling, and retaining students and ensures compliance with accreditation requirements.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit N.C. A&T is a public, land‑grant, doctoral research institution and the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade. With an enrollment of 14,311 students in Fall 2024, the university offers 59 undergraduate degree programs, 36 master’s programs, and 12 doctoral programs. It is America's top producer of Black graduates in engineering and agricultural science bachelor’s programs and a top five producer in numerous additional disciplines, including liberal arts and communications/journalism. It also ranks no. 3 in master’s degrees awarded to Black graduates in engineering technologies and related fields, no. 4 in master’s degrees in engineering, and no. 11 in the best business school for women in the nation. Nationally recognized for its leadership and excellence in STEM education and research, N.C. A&T is classified as "R2‑High Research Activity" and is poised to achieve "R1‑Very High Research Activity" status. The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is one of four academic departments within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and is accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in child development and family relations, child development early education and family studies (birth‑kindergarten licensure), consumer sciences, fashion merchandising and design, food and nutritional sciences (nutrition), and food and nutritional sciences (food science). Additionally, the department offers a Master of Science degree in food and nutritional science, a Master of Arts in Teaching in family and consumer sciences education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching in child development early education and family studies (birth‑kindergarten licensure). Faculty members are actively engaged in research that contributes to knowledge in nutrition, food science, housing, apparel, textiles, and family issues.
Minimum Requirements
Doctorate degree or in progress in nutrition, dietetics or related field from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university
Higher education teaching and advising experience
Registered Dietitian
Knowledge of ACEND standards of education and broad knowledge of clinical and administrative dietetics
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education Minimum three years of teaching and advising in higher education; program coordination and administrative experience; industry experience; ACEND accreditation experience; strong technology skills; strong oral and written communication skills; and proficiency with statistical and financial concepts.
Required License or Certification Registered Dietitian
